Update: And that’s Sketch battle 9 over! Thank you everyone for checking us out, supporting our relaunch here on Inter-comics and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Huge shout out has to go to Lee at Inter-comics for helping us set up at our new home and making the transition so easy and enjoyable, so thank you Lee. Also a big shout out to Doug at Monkey squad one for going above and beyond with all the retweets and shout outs on tweeter, thank you Doug!
Onto the winner though!
We hope people got the idea behind the split vote as talent comes in many forms and we hope it encourages different types of creative people to take part in future, as for this time both categories were ruled over by one artist.
Announcing the winner of both the art and writing categories, William Haders!
Born from a child-hood idea, William’s piece introduces us to the ringmaster who introduces one of his circus acts the Blub. Maintaining a strong lead from the start with the art, people seemed to really be drawn to the level of quality and effort of the hand applied effort of the inking and colours. Whilst going nearly neck and neck all week on the best writing vote, William just pulled ahead on the best written vote with his clear and deadpan dialogue.
Be sure to keep up to date with William on twitter at @doubleduece45 and also his upcoming comic convention, Cincy comic con. Head on over to their twitter page right now to win a piece of art from superstar artist Tony Moore!
Follow us on facebook and twitter and we hope to see you all again for both Sketch battle 10 and 11!
Welcome to Sketch Battle 9!
As we are always looking to evolve these battles and push our artists forward, we decided this time to really open up the playing field! This time around is a Four panel comic competition. The challenge we set to our artists was this; within four panels tell a story. Voting though will be split into 2 categories! One for best art and the other for best story. Now not everyone is a grand master at drawing but that doesn’t mean they don’t have great ideas or great stories to tell! Going forward ALL our challenges will be split this way and we hope that encourages more people to take part and join us in getting creative!
Without further ado though. Here are the entrants in Sketch battle 9!
